Conclusion On Cyclic Error - Repartition of hard drive is not the parmanent solution to avoid cyclic redundancy check(CRC) errors while it may just hide the error or make a delayed appearance fof CRC errors.
I have got 80 GB of hard drive in my intel computer and I partitioned it in three parts of 30, 30 and 20 GB. Everything was going on sound and fine but suddenly my computer started displaying the message for CRC errors. Disk checking utility started showing me bad sectors for hard- drive so I repartitioned my hard drive and created five parts this time but this did not work and I am still getting CRC errors. What I need to do? Am I able to remove CRC errors by repartitioning my hard drive?
Actually partitioning of hard drive is nothing but a process to divide a large rive into logically saperate parts for the arrangement of information in any specific sort. Thus it is obvious that partitioning is unable to bring any physical alteration in hard drive. It is just a way to tell your computer where you want to keep your data and what is it’s limit. In this way it is not at all related to the removal of cyclic redundancy check errors while it can just delay CRC errors. You will not find CRC errors immediately after repartitioning of your computer’s hard drive but will later get the errors again.
Generally computer shows the information for bad sectors. After repartition the informatio of bad sectors might stop displaying but it just hide for sometime while the bad sectors remain in the same place. Thus it does not depends on the partitioning of the hard drive. For resolving the problem of bad sectors, you should follow rules given below:-
- You should run CHKDSK/R in your computer over the drive partition which shows error. This will detect the problem in less time.
- If above formulae does not work you can run spinrite in your system. This might help you more efficiently.
I just recommend that you should not make further steps for this matter just by pretending that repartition of hard drive can stop CRC errors because it reallu does not do that recovery.
