Conclusion On Copy Video DVD - Backup of DVD is simple and can be done by backup programs, DVD burners etc. while copying the video DVD needs complex tool which might not be legal in some extent.

I want to backup all my data on DVDs as well as I am interested to copy video DVDs. How I can perform both the tasks? Can I have any suggestion for copying video DVDs?

How can I backup and copy video DVDs

Let’s talk about copying the DVDs first. DVDs now-a-days bacame the most common media for backing up data. The reason behind it is there cheapness and alot of space about 5 GB to store the data within them. Burning a DVD is not a tough job while you need a DVD writer on your computer for this purpose. Might your DVD writer would have the software which is able to burn DVDs as well as CDs. In windows xp you can get that type of burning software included.

You need also to take care about DVD-R and DVD+R type.Same happens with CD. It also has types as CD-R, CD+R, CD-W etc. You need to make sure for which format your burning software can work as well as what kind of media do you need to backup your drive?

Now just making a clearance for the copying of DVDs, I want to make you aware that there is no legal way or software for copying any commercially produced CD or DVD. This causes piracy in film industry too. Although I agree to accept that there should be a valid way to have your own copy of DVD however there is not any legitimate idea to copy commecially produced DVD till now.

This specially I want to make clear that often claims are being seen for copying softwares. If there is any software available to copy commercial DVDs its not the legitimate one yet.

So, my suggestion is that using DVDs is really an interesting and comfortable way of backing up data onto but copying of DVD is not legally applicable yet.
