Conclusion On Other Memory errors - Your computer’s power supply can fail but not suddenly. It might be happen by gradual small failures to give you a big shock.
I am worried that my power supplies can bring memory errors to my computer. Once I found that my computer had been locked overnight and then I apllied memory test programs which showed me some errors. Later I rebooted my computer and found some memory errors. When I removed the memory cards and placed them again in their site on my motherboard, the error went away. Does it happen due to the power supply failure? Is there any other factor causing the memory error?
Definitely you might face the problem of memory errors due to the failure of power supply but it is not compulsorily at all that power supply failure takes place suddenly. It may also be the result of some gradual variations. Power supply failure can happen in a variety of ways and can also with the terrible results such as flashes, sparks, smoke or nothing at all just 'no power' but often it happens as a result of slow and gradual changes. It can happen in following ways-
- It might be possible that your power supply is not no more able to provide enough power to run your computer. It can be possible if you have connected many hardware to you computer that the power supply is not capable to supply power required by all of them.
- It may also the reason that your power supply is gradually decreasing the voltage it supplies. This consequently leads to the power supply failure.
- Which component would fail first is the question depends on the tolerance power of your components. The component with less tolerance will fail first and so on.
- It is a projection that often memory shows symptoms of failure first. It is recovered by reseating the memory cards on your motherboard temporarily but it is not the fix for a problem and can become permanently fail if the power supply continuously gets worse.
Here is the problem that I might get confused whether the problem lies on memory or power supply or wherever else but once when I was stucked in the same condition I replaced my power supply and got everything was alright. If you are unable to guess where the problem is, you can call a technician to search for the root of problem.
